After 8 immensely enjoyable weeks making my debut as Buttons, Cinderella sadly came to a close at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Sunday 5th January 2010.
The entire cast & crew were an honour to work alongside, and it was clearly the most fun i have ever had in my 8 years of doing pantomime. 67 performances in total, with only 1 being cancelled due to a power cut in Town!...We even managed to continue, dispite being virtually snowed in on the last week of the run!
Some great reviews were also warmly received too:
...’Lloyd Hollett is back, as Buttons this year, with his madcap brand of humour, legendary face pulling and cutting impersonations. He’s the glue that holds the show together - the class clown who’s actually the sharpest of the lot, And its a brave man who can ad-lib with a trio of young boys brought up from the audience for the traditional singalong’.....

...’Lloyd Hollett’s Buttons is a cheeky Cockney chappie engaging and loveable, generating laughter and sympathetic ‘aahs’ in equal measure’.....

...The like-able Lloyd Hollett puts considerable pathos into his rejection by Cinders, making you actually care about Buttons’....

Thanks to all who came to see the production. The closing night was billed as a secret panto. Where the audience were given their own scripts with instructions to follow to surprise the cast. We had no idea of what was going to happen, and i particually had no idea when at the end of act 2, Gethin Jones set me up and arranged to bring Katherine Jenkins onstage to surprise me.
Gethin knew i was a big fan of hers, and the moment she walked onstage was almost like Michael Aspel walking onstage with the big red book!. Thankyou to Gethin for arranging that, and many congratulations to Paul Hendy & Emily Wood for arranging such a sensational send off!....
Dont forget to check the website regularly for updates!
Cheers,
